Finally! I've been working on this on-and-off for over a month and kept getting distracted by other things, but here it is.
So basically I thought.. "what are two things that are epic!?"
Obviously,
1. Dragons
2. Grandiose chandeliers in the halls of old castles and palaces
So what would happen if one were to combine them!?
Actually, it started with an idea to make a whole UE4 scene of a "dragon master's lair" or something like that, which maybe I'll continue later on, but for now, here's at least the first asset from that scene :D
I started in Zbrush to sculpt the main shape of the dragon and other parts, used Nanomesh to add scales and other repetitive details, a combination of ZRemesher and manual retopology in Maya, baked maps in Marmoset Toolbag, textured in Substance Painter, and the scene/video were made in Unreal Engine. The magical fire effect was also made by me, in UE's Cascade.
The song in the video is "Bloodred Shores of Enoshima" by Whispered, which happens to tell the story of a five-headed dragon from Japanese folklore.
